Changing garage software without losing ten years of history
Changing software is scary for one simple reason: the history. Plyx was built to take over your data as it is, whatever software you use today, including what its export does not give. You keep everything, you retype nothing.
What Plyx takes over
- Customers and vehicles, with all their fields: customer numbers, VAT, plates, chassis numbers, mileages, inspection dates.
- The invoice history, with its line items: parts, labour, packages, not just totals. Every old invoice opens in Plyx as if it had been made there.
- The legal register of interventions, including entries still open.
- The planning: upcoming appointments are carried over as they are.
- The parts stock and the suppliers.
- Invoice numbers continue where your old software stopped: no break in the sequence, no duplicates.
From which software?
We have already taken over BBT Cloud and GAD Garage in depth, invoice lines and register included. For other software, a spreadsheet or binders, we start from your exports and check the figures together before the switch. What matters is that your data arrives complete.
Migration from BBT Cloud: free of charge
Coming from BBT Cloud? The full migration of your data is free of charge: customers, vehicles, invoices with line items, register, planning and stock, invoice numbers included. And the screens will feel familiar: Plyx keeps the same structure, full-page records, tabs, action bars, the same fields.
And what your previous software had already lost
Many garages have changed software once before and left years of history behind, or the VAT numbers of their business customers. Plyx can go back and fetch them from the old software: for a garage in Waterloo, more than ten thousand invoices and ten years of history found their place again on each vehicle's record.
How the switch works
- An export from your current software, which we retrieve with you, and a first import into Plyx to check the figures together: number of customers, vehicles, invoices.
- A period during which you look at Plyx with your real data, without changing anything in your daily work.
- On switch day, the register and the planning are exported last and imported into Plyx. You invoice in Plyx from the next morning.
- Your old software remains available for consultation as long as you want: nothing forces you to close it the same day.
What it asks of you
We do the migration, not you. Allow an hour on your side to validate the figures, and an evening for the switch. The details are agreed at the demonstration, with your own data.

How long does a migration take?
One day for the migration, an hour on your side to check. The switch happens one evening, and you invoice in Plyx the next day.
Do my invoice numbers continue?
Yes. Plyx continues from your old software's last number, with no gap and no duplicate, series by series.
What if my software does not export everything?
Standard exports rarely give the invoice lines, the full register or the planning. We have the methods to retrieve them anyway: that is precisely the heart of our migration.
Can I keep my old software open for a while?
Yes, for consultation. The only rule: after the switch, you invoice in a single software, so that the numbers stay consistent.
Does the migration cost anything?
From BBT Cloud, it is free of charge. From other software, it is agreed at the demonstration depending on what your exports contain, and it is always done by us.
